As in every other liberal art, in programming there are different types of authors and different types of texts. Alpha classes and Hatch Studio P are designed to develop programmatic literacy related to data science, data structures, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The reality is that robot toys have more in common with remote controlled cars than they do robotics. Any student interested in genuine robotics will benefit from Alpha classes as robotics requires a high degree of synthesis between programming literacy and mathematics.
That's why our Hatch Alpha class integrates mathematical and computational reasoning as students achieve programming literacy with the computer language Python. The class is appropriate for students who are 9 to 16 years old. While students who are becoming programmatically literate often begin in the same place, we make every effort to group students by age as well as by interest.
